Biography
Yuting Xue is an artist and researcher specializing in interactive media, with a background in digital media art. She holds a Master’s degree in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art (RCA) and is currently pursuing her PhD at the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK).
Her artistic practice centers on immersive moving images and multisensory installations that invite audiences to encounter the world through expanded modes of perception. Through embodied interaction, she explores the possibilities of human sensory experience, seeking to evoke emotional resonance through the dynamic interplay of internal and external senses. She gets interested in the bio-signals of interoception, investigating how internal bodily awareness shapes one’s sense of presence, agency, and self-ownership. Integrating speculative design and posthumanist perspectives, she reimagines the entanglements between humans and plants across different sensory systems. Through these approaches, she envisions alternative modes of coexistence that extend beyond conventional human-centered frameworks.
Xue’s works have been exhibited internationally across the United Kingdom, South Korea, Italy, Hong Kong SAR, and mainland China. Her projects have also been presented at academic conferences, including SIGGRAPH, ISEA, Creativity & Cognition, and ICHEC. Through her interdisciplinary practice, she continues to bridge art, design, and technology, creating spaces in which sensory perception becomes a catalyst for reflection, connection, and transformative experience.
